We are currently recruiting for a Medical Secretary / MDT Coordinator to join our team!

Responsibilities & accountabilities
- Support the consultants in the delivery of care through the surgical lists and face-to-face clinics.
- To co-ordinate the booking of the surgical and face-to-face clinics in collaboration with the consultants, nursing team and administrative team.
- Ensure that all team members have access to relevant patient information, including medical history, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans.
- Responsible for uploading documents and reports onto the electronic health record.
- To request and gather information from other hospitals as required by consultants, such as scans, histology reports, pathology reports, etc.
- To forward referrals and/or correspondence in a timely manner and ensure copies are sent to referring GP’s and Consultants.
- Provide timely updates and progress reports on patient cases to all stakeholders involved in the care process and liaise with consultants.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and other members of the healthcare team.
- Organize and lead regular multidisciplinary team meetings, involving dermatologists, oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and other relevant specialists.
- Coordinate the presentation and discussion of complex skin cancer cases within the team.
- Presentation of cases at the multidisciplinary team meeting.
- Monitor the quality of care delivered by the multidisciplinary team and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with hospital administrators and relevant departments to secure the necessary resources for the team’s activities and patient care.
- Conduct clinical audits regularly.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide the highest standard of care to patients.
Key capabilities
- Previous experience in a healthcare coordination role, preferably in oncology or dermatology.
- Computer literate and comfortable with technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/nursing.
- Understanding of skin cancer diagnosis, treatment, and management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities.
- Able to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage a number of issues.
- Able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Efficient and keen attention to detail with a strong knowledge of patient safety is required.
